This is a nice fixture and we have it in our dining room. However, based on the pictures (and the pricetag) I expected the construction of the fixture to be a bit more substantial. It's isn't horrible quality by any stretch, but the fixture isn't nearly as heavy (or heavy looking) as I would have expected.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have had this chandelier now for over a year. It is unbelievable. It's the center of conversation at our dinner parties. We have a large dining room and dining room table and the candlearia Dakota 14-light chandelier with it's matching sconces in the centering point of our decor within the room. You will not go wrong purchasing this one.
