We ordered two of these for posts along the side of our driveway. Within weeks of installation each of the glass surrounds fractured, despite them moving freely within the housing.

Lighting Universe were great at getting replacements from the manufacturer and so far the new glass hasn't cracked. But we haven't gone through another winter, so I am not particularly confident that it isn't a fundamental design flaw.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The experience could not have been better. The web site was easily accessed. The merchandise was fairly priced, and the shipment was quick as promised. Plus the merchandise was well made. We did not try to cut corners and purchased the pieces recommended. In addition the web site gave us all the option s as we wen t along to change sizes, colors, etc to make sconces a perfect fit both size wise and color.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The glass cylinder is a very close fit into the rings. But instructions advise care in assembly, and indeed, it worked OK after some worries initially.
